BioBrew Linux is an open source Linux distribution based on Red Hat Linux and the NPACI Rocks cluster software and enhanced for bioinformaticists and life scientists. A new release, version 3.1, is out: "BioBrew 3.1 for x86 is here. BioBrew is an open source Linux cluster distribution based on the popular Rocks cluster software and enhanced for bioinformatics. BioBrew includes popular cluster software e.g. MPICH, PVM, Modules, PVFS, Myrinet GM, Sun Grid Engine, gcc, Ganglia, and Globus, *and* popular bioinformatics software e.g. the NCBI toolkit, BLAST, mpiBLAST, HMMER, ClustalW, GROMACS, PHYLIP, WISE, FASTA, MrBayes, and EMBOSS.
