Alan Baghumian has announced the second development release of Parsix GNU/Linux 0.85: "A new testing release of Parsix GNU/Linux 0.85 is available now. Beside many fixed bugs, this version contains an updated 2.6.18 kernel with improved hardware detection, especially for SATA hard drives. Also there are many updated packages since test 1, synchronized with Debian testing branch on Oct 26, 2006. You are most welcome to test this release and report possible bugs. In other news, a special edition of Parsix GNU/Linux has been deployed on 6,000 PCs obtained for Iranian schools by the Ministry of Education." Read the full release announcement for further details. Parsix GNU/Linux is a desktop distribution based on Debian's Stable branch. The Parsix project has released an update to their 8.x series, Parsix GNU/Linux 8.15r0. The new release features the GNOME 3.22.2 desktop environment and version 4.4.44 of the Linux kernel. The Parsix news page reads: We are proud to announce the final release of Parsix GNU/Linux 8.15, code name 'Nev'. Parsix 8.15 ships with GNOME 3.22.2, an updated kernel based on Linux 4.4.44 and tons of updated and upgraded packages. It has been built on top of the rock-solid Debian 8.0 'Jessie' platform and all base packages have been synchronized with the 'Jessie' repositories as of January 23, 2017. Alan Baghumian has announced the availability of a new development snapshot of Parsix GNU/Linux. The new beta version, Parsix GNU/Linux 8.15-TEST-2, of the Debian-based project ships with GNOME 3.22 and version 4.4.35 of the Linux kernel. The Adobe Flash player has also been updated. The 64-bit builds support booting on UEFI-enabled computers. "Parsix GNU/Linux 8.15 (code name 'Nev') ships with the stable GNOME 3.22 desktop environment and an updated kernel. This version has been synchronized with Debian 'Jessie' repositories as of November 27, 2016. Parsix 'Nev' ships with the LibreOffice 4.3.3 productivity suit by default. Highlights: GNOME Shell 3.22.2, GRUB 2, Firefox 50.0, GParted 0.19.0, Empathy 3.12.12, LibreOffice 4.3.3, VirtualBox 4.3.36 and an updated kernel based on Linux 4.4.35 with TuxOnIce, BFS and other extra patches. This new version is still based on Debian's current stable branch, but it comes the very latest GNOME 3.20 desktop, as well as a specially compiled Linux kernel 4.4. This version ships with GNOME 3.20.3, a new kernel based on Linux 4.4.16 and tons of updated and upgraded packages. Parsix 8.10 has been built on top of the rock-solid Debian 8.0 'Jessie' platform and all base packages have been synchronized with Debian 'Jessie' repositories as of July 30, 2016. Parsix 'Erik' ships with the LibreOffice 4.3.3 productivity suit by default.
