Monomaxos
Monomaxos was an Ubuntu-based distribution whose purpose was to provide a complete out-of-the-box functional Linux operating system by including browser plugins, media codecs, support for DVD playback, Java, Flash and other components. It also adds a custom desktop and menus, and a modified Wubi installer for making installation very easy. Monomaxos was compatible with Ubuntu software repositories.

Tobias Svensson has announced the release of Topologilinux 7.0.1, a Slackware-based distribution designed to be run under Windows, but also available as a standard Linux system that can be installed to a hard disk: "Topologilinux 7.0.1 released. This is a bug-fix release that should fix bugs reported in the 7.0.0 release. Changes: updated all packages to latest from Slackware 12.1; solved the VNC and GNOME keyboard problem by new VNC server version; updated to new VNC 4.1.3 version of server and client, now uses 24-bit color depth; fixed small issues from setup and topomanagers reported in SourceForge's bug tracking system; updated Xfce and OpenOffice.org; fixed uninstall issue in Vista; added old FVWM-95 after user requests; added old ASD archiver; copy rgb.txt to /usr/X11R6/lib/X11 to fix problems in VNC mode for some programs; other bug fixes." As of version 6.0, it can also be installed as a standalone distribution using the standard Slackware installer. Topologilinux, a project developing a Slackware-based Linux distribution that can be installed and run from within Windows (as well as installed on a separate partition), has announced an updated release, version 6.1.0: "Topologilinux has now released version 6.1.0. This new version contains about 6 GB of software, including Linux kernel 2.6.17.13, GNOME 2.16.3, KDE 3.5.4, X.Org 6.9.0, OpenOffice.org 2.1, GCC, Xfce, coLinux 0.6.4, 3D games, ALSA sound system and many other applications. This version should be working on Windows Vista. Another great thing is that you can also run it in 'real' Linux mode, like the traditional distributions. Topologilinux is a Slackware-based distribution designed primarily to be installed inside an existing Windows system. As of this version, it can also be installed as a standalone distribution using the standard Slackware installer. Topologilinux 6.0 has been released with the following changes: "This release is based on a 2.6.14.2 kernel and Slackware 10.2. It is now also possible to install the distribution like a traditional Linux distribution, though loopmount and colinux mode are still supported. Almost all of the packages were updated and GNOME 2.12 was included." Visit the project's home page to learn more.
