Commodore OS Vision
Commodore OS Vision is a 64-bit Linux distribution which was originally based on Linux Mint and is now an unofficial spin of MX Linux. This distribution was created for Commodore enthusiasts and people who appreciate a retro style interface. Commodore OS Vision uses the MATE desktop interface and features a retro look and effects. It has a classic Commodore slant with a selection of applications reminiscent of their classic Amiga counterparts.

The Murena project provides open source images for common smartphones, open source cloud-based storage, calendar, and backup solutions, and sells phones with /e/OS pre-installed. The project's latest release is for version 1.13 which includes a number of fixes and minor improvements. "We are proud to deliver the /e/OS 1.13. Enjoy all the new features and improvements it embeds! We embedded some improvements! App lounge - Categories allows to discover way more apps. If users have to use a Google account, they're advised to use a Google account without any important data. Account added via Calendar can be used within a couple of minute. Translations - Gallery, Music, Advanced Privacy. Software updates - We merged bug fixes and security updates from LineageOS 19.1 source code. FP4 Firmware - Bumped firmware with the May update (FP4.SP29.B.069.20230510).Third-Party App support: we addressed some issues with in-app Maps display; we resolved an issue with a large number of markers on the map; we addressed some issues about network location." The project's operating system is based on LineageOS, itself based on Android. The Murena team removes closed source applications, trackers, and Google-specific elements of Android and replaces them with open source alternatives.

Murena is an umbrella name for the /e/OS operating system, associated open source powered smartphones, and cloud-based services. The Murena project has launched version 2.2 of its smartphone operating system which blocks more app trackers and introduces parental controls. "One of the standout features in this release is the long-awaited Parental Control feature. Designed to help you protect your children online, this feature allows you to manage their device usage, ensuring a safer digital environment. For more details on how to set it up, visit our Parental Control documentation. Additionally, we have enhanced privacy measures by blocking 800 new trackers, ensuring better protection of your personal information. The App Lounge now includes the Non Safe For Work (NSFW) rating from F-Droid, allowing you to make informed decisions about app installations. Third-party apps now have better integration with the App Lounge account for licensing features, and an option to see all available updates is now included in the Updater. For Fairphone users, we have added support for the Fairphone camera app on Fairphone 4 and improved /e/OS Camera with 48MP/50MPx mode for both Fairphone 4 and 5. The Murena project delivers a de-Googled version of Android for smartphones which include several privacy protecting features and independent cloud services. The Murena team have released Murena 2.0 which ships with an updated version of the Bliss launcher, more capable tracker blocking, built-in QR code recognition in the camera app, and IP address hiding. "Advanced Privacy is a unique tool we have developed to prevent trackers from accessing your data while you are using third-party apps or just browsing the web. Let's have a look now at the enhanced Advanced Privacy features in /e/OS V2. Advanced Privacy lets you manage in-app trackers, IP addresses, and location. It's available as a widget and within the operating system settings. And now in a recent update, you can enjoy a better experience with Advanced Privacy with a more intuitive user interface; you'll have greater control over your privacy settings. In Advanced Privacy settings, you can also manage tracker permissions by app and see the complete statistics of trackers blocked." The Murena project provides an Android-based, mobile operating system which strives to replace Google proprietary apps with open source alternatives along with a range of privacy protecting features. The project's latest release, version 1.20, improves third-party application support, enforces more strict rules on privacy ratings for third-party apps, and improves the tracker manager page. "We embedded some improvements! PDF reader: PDF Viewer Plus has been replaced by MJ PDF reader to provide more options and up to date security patches. Updater: Update's download is resumed automatically when needed. Third Party Apps support: /e/OS is now compatible with the Application Licensing API. Some third party apps can check the licensing status to make sure that the user is allowed to use the application, for instance in case of paid applications. Third party apps which are using this API are now working properly on /e/OS. We fixed the partial support of the On Demand Modules API used by third party apps to download split APKs at runtime. Advanced Privacy: You can now realize easily how efficiently Advanced Privacy protects you against trackers in the widget and on the home page. The design of the tracker management page is now more efficient. The Privacy Score has been forced to 0 for a list of apps for which Terms of Services clearly don't respect your privacy and your data." Murena has announced a new stable update to the project's 1.x branch. The new version, Murena /e/OS 1.17, updates the web browser and the microG compatibility software, and introduces a number of bug fixes. "We are excited to bring you /e/OS 1.17 with significant improvements. Stay updated with refreshed browser and microG, ensuring a more secure online journey. Bug fixes include functional bookmarks, smooth SMS experiences and improved settings visibility. Device highlights feature firmware upgrades for Fairphone 5 and Teracube 2e, with improved functionality and fixes. Important note: this version marks the final version for Android Q; please consider upgrading for continued support if your device is compatible with a more recent Android version. Exciting news for Samsung Galaxy S7 users: an upgrade to Android 11 is on the horizon, expected to arrive in early 2024. AppLounge: More unit tests and better logs will help us bringing AppLounge to its best! Agenda: Add confirmation dialog on event discard. AccountManager: We've added nextcloud SingleSignOn Authentification support. eDrive: List the PWAs among the installed app in the backup file; change widget cloud icon and account type name. Mail: Enable account specific color. Don't show floating action button by default. Updater: Remove lower android version to avoid incompatible rollback; check dev options toggle for test channel to avoid test channel when disabling dev mode. Settings: Move accounts entry to top." The Murena project has published version 1.0 of its /e/OS operating system for mobile devices. The project includes a new application installer and a number of new improvements and features: "We are proud to deliver the /e/OS v1.0. Enjoy all the new features and improvements it embeds. We embedded some new features! You are now able to limit your data exposure once you have installed third party apps on your devices. It allows you to manage in app trackers, IP address and location. App Lounge, the new application installer! Our new application installer lets you search and download all the applications you want directly from the smartphone. It connects you to millions of Android apps but not only. It also includes Progressive Web Apps and even open-source applications, all in one place. Safetynet test pass (/stable devices only): it allows more applications to run properly on /e/OS. You are now able to see your account details in a widget (including your aliases!) A new user interface for Mail, Message and Camera. The file synchronization now offers real time synchronization, from device to server. Improvement in BlissLauncher colors, and also a removable weather widget. Translations were improved thanks to the work of our community."
