Aditya Shakya has announced the release of a new version of Archcraft, a lightweight, Arch-based Linux distribution with highly customised Openbox and bspwm window managers and a selection of lightweight applications. The new version, labeled as 2024.04.06, brings updated packages and window manager configurations, as well as various improvements and bug fixes: "April 2024 ISO image of Archcraft is now available to download. Changelogs: updated ISO profile; latest base with new packages; update all Archcraft and AUR packages; update all window manager configurations; added latest version of Calamares installer and its configuration (fixed autologin issue); added a new GRUB package (fixed issue with installation on XFS filesystem); added GRUB hooks package (to install GRUB on every update); added archcraft-arandr (GUI) package to manage screen layouts (save and restore them); fixed Qt theming issue, added configurations for Qt 6; improved Thunar action functionalities - open terminal according to session, open as root according to session, permanently sets the wallpaper in supported sessions; small improvements and bugs fixed. | Archcraft is a minimal Linux distribution based on Arch Linux. The project provides a graphical user interface using minimal window managers rather than full featured desktop environments. Archcraft is installed using the Calamares system installer and includes the yay package manager to facilitate fetching software from the Arch User Repository.

Aditya Shakya has announced the release of Archcraft 2026.05.12, an updated build of the project's lightweight, rolling-release distribution based on Arch Linux and featuring the Openbox and bspwm window managers. From the release announcement: "May 2026 ISO image of Archcraft is now available to download. Changelog: updated ISO profile to archiso 88-1; latest base with new packages; update some Archcraft and all AUR packages; small improvements and bugs fixed." Besides a freely-available ISO image, the project now also offers a Prime edition with a selection of lightweight window managers and Wayland compositors: "New Archcraft Prime ISO image is now available to download. Archcraft Prime offers every (not the one released after Prime) exclusive stuff of Archcraft in a single ISO image. It has Openbox Premium, bspwm Premium and i3wm Premium, as well as all several exclusive Wayland compositors (Sway, Wayfire, River, Hyprland and newm) pre-installed." Aditya Shakya has announced the release of a new version of Archcraft, a lightweight, rolling-release distribution based on Arch Linux and featuring two window managers - Openbox (a stacking window manager) and bspwm (a tiling window manager with tiling, stacking and tabbing layouts). Then new release of Archcraft, version 2026.02.02, drops support for the XFS file system and disables the encryption option in its command-line installer. Some of the important component upgrades include Linux kernel version 6.18.7, bspwm 0.9.12, Firefox 147.0.2, Pacman 7.1.0, Python 3.14.2 and NVIDIA 590.48.01. "The February 2026 ISO image of Archcraft is now available for download. Changelog: support for XFS has been dropped due to bugs (GRUB fails to install); encryption does not work with ABIF (command-line installer) due to the Plymouth update (no plymouth-encrypt hook in new versions); updated ISO image profile to archiso 87-1; latest base with new packages; update all Archcraft and AUR packages; small improvements and bugs fixed." Aditya Shakya has announced the release of Archcraft 2025.04.24, a lightweight, Arch-based Linux distribution with a choice of two window managers and a selection of lightweight applications. The available window managers are Openbox (a stacking window manager) and bspwm (a tiling window manager which supports tiling, stacking and tabbing layouts). The new version of Archcraft comes with the latest Linux kernel, version 6.14.3, bspwm 0.9.10, NVIDIA 570.144, Firefox 137.0.2, updated packages from Arch Linux and AUR repositories, and some bug fixes: "The April 2025 ISO image of Archcraft is now available to download. Changelog: updated ISO image profile to archiso 83-1; latest base with new packages; update all Archcraft and AUR packages; updated Openbox and bspwm configurations; fixed issues with rofi menu layouts; fixed Polybar crashes; small improvements and bugs fixed." You need to re-install Archcraft for this update. After that, you can update to the next release with pacman.
