Not as nice as they praise. With all due respect for the creators.
I have a computer for a few years old samsung laptop with i5 processor, 4GB RAM and integrated card, Intel and Nvidi optimus. I will compare Manjaro, SzwagArch, Archman on the arch and Mxlinux on the stable debut.
Definitely, Maniaro or Mxlinux is better. Mana has very well configured installations for nvidi optimus drivers. It is fast and light. In general, it works without any problems, especially on xfce or gnome environments.
Plasma always knows something ...
Mxlinux is also light, fast (based on debuting stable), nothing to complain about. My favorite.
As for the other two, unfortunately, neither Szwagarch nor Armchan can match them.
They are slower, especially the first launches (eg the difference in starting the firefox is about 10 seconds on Mxlinux and about 18 seconds on Szwargarch, Archman). Sure, it's only seconds but still.
All you have to do is open two or three programs at the same time and hang up a bit.
There are other minor bugs, for example: the lack of some functions under the right mouse button and how they can not be used "cut".
When I go from one program to another, it's like the mouse is left behind and there is no smooth transition.
As for the stability, I used it too briefly. I think that these errors will be eliminated in the future.
I've been using Linux since 1998 on and off, hopping between distros like the most miserable lover-tester. I have to say Archman wins hands down with any distro on very problematic hardware -- it always boots and runs properly.
It's very surprising to find Archman so far down at the Distrowatch list. It is pure Arch Linux with just a few tweaks to make installation totally PAINLESS. Everything runs smoothly.
I am currently using 2018.04 Xfce and have no complaints.
There are a few superb distros such as Devuan or Gecko, but on Archman I could do everything I wanted without any hiccups.
Perhaps it should be more advertised to those who want pure Arch Linux but don't want to spend ages on installation and checking if their hardware would work.
tried archman (2018.01 - xfce) as a live-usb on 2 computers that are over 11 years old.
arch distros usually are problematic for these computers. archman worked, and, well.
no problem connecting with wifi and wired internet.
sound worked fine.
tried the pacman and installed aisleroit solitaire fine.
did not try print.
the memory footprint after login was around 350Mb.
i only used for about 1/2 hour. not an exhaustive test; but, for an arch distro, it was a positive experience.
their forum does have a small english section
Installed archman-xfce-1801_x86_64.iso in VirtualBox. Everything was great until I got a notice that 43 updates were available. After installation and rebooting the error message popped up saying "Unrecoverable error." Went to their forum, but it was mostly in Turkish.
