New features in Fedora 34 |
 |
Fedora 34 is expected to be released soon and there are a number of new features planned. One of them is accelerated graphics in XWayland sessions, even on equipment running NVIDIA drivers, which have historically not always worked well with Wayland. Another is PipeWire: "PipeWire as most of you know is the engine we use to deal with handling video streams in a secure and shareable away in Fedora Workstation, so when you interact with your web camera(s) or do screen casting or make screenshots it is all routed and handled by PipeWire. But in Fedora Workstation 34 we are aiming to also switch to using PipeWire for audio, to replace both PulseAudio and Jack." Details on these changes as well as progress being made with Toolbox and Flatpak can be found in this blog post.
