The project's latest stable release is Alpine Linux 3.20.0 which features a number of package updates, including Linux 6.6, GNOME 46, and KDE Plasma 6. The problem is that GRUB added a new configuration that executes fwsetup --is-supported, but GRUB 2.06 does not support the --is-supported argument yet, causing GRUB to try to reboot into firmware unconditionally. Due to the relicensing of Redis to RSALv2+SSPLv1, a non-free license model, the BSD-3-Clause licensed fork Valkey has replaced Redis in the main package repository." The Alpine Linux development team has announced the release of Alpine Linux 2.5.0, a community-developed operating system designed for x86 routers, firewalls, VPNs, VoIP boxes and servers: "We are pleased to announce Alpine Linux version 2.5. Since version 2.4, among the various bug fixes, several packages have been upgraded: Linux kernel upgraded to 3.6.6 with the grsecurity patch; Asterisk 11.0.1; Xen 4.2 Dom0 support; Freeswitch 1.2.0; PostgreSQL 9.2.1; Ruby 1.9.3; libvirt 1.0. Some of the updated packages available from the HTTP repositories are: X.Org Server 1.13, Mesa 9 and much more. The full lists of changes can be found in the git log and bug tracker." Jeff Bilyk has announced the release of Alpine Linux 2.1.5, a small distribution designed for x86 routers, firewalls, VPNs, VoIP boxes and servers: "We are pleased to announce the Alpine Linux 2.1.5 release. This release includes an update to use 2.6.35.11-based kernels. Various packages have bug fixes from upstream. Among these are Asterisk 1.8.3, Samba 3.5.8, Dovecot 2.0.11, BIND 9.7.3 and OpenSSL 1.0.0d. The package manager has fixes that solve issues when upgrading to edge. Important note when upgrading from version 1.10: the 2.0 series introduces an ABI-incompatible version of uClibc with NPTL threading support. This means that you cannot mix packages from older releases with 2.0. To upgrade you will need to make sure that you only have 2.0 repositories in your /etc/apk/repositories list." Jeff Bilyk has announced the release of Alpine Linux 2.1.4, a community-developed operating system designed for x86 routers, firewalls, VPNs, VoIP and servers: "We are pleased to announce the Alpine Linux 2.1.4 release. This release includes an update to 2.6.35.10-based kernels. Hyper-V fixes have been applied to these kernels. Boot scripts have been updated so that if at least one network interface starts successfully, then services that depend on networking will be started. In previous releases (since Alpine 1.9.0) all network interfaces had to start successfully for this to happen.
