It went dormant in 2005, but was revived again in 2011 as a Debian-based live CD "aimed at overclockers for stress testing, distributed computing and as a general Linux toolkit."

The final version of LinEx 3.0 has been released. Also known as LinEx Woody, LinEx 3.0 is based on Debian Woody with GNOME2 as the default desktop and with superior Spanish localisation. Other improvements include better driver and peripherals support as well as many package updates; this is the announcement in Spanish. LinEx 3.0 is available as a free download: linex.ISO (636MB), but as usual, the main server is extremely slow and you'll be better off waiting a day or two until some of LinEx's mirrors get synchronised with the main server. LinEx was created by the Council of Education, Science and Technology of the Government of Extremadura in Spain.

The marathon download has completed so I was able to update the Linex page and post the news about the 2.0 release. The download from the only mirror was painfully slow, but you might have more luck: linex2.00.ISO (548MB). Other Spanish-language sites have also posted related stories recently - check them at Planeta Linux and Noticias.
