Redox OS
Redox is a Unix-like, general-purpose, microkernel-based operating system written in Rust. Redox aims to bring the innovations of Rust to a modern microkernel. The project also provides a full set of custom programs and tries to be a complete alternative to Linux and BSD. Redox OS attempts to be source-compatible with Linux and the BSD family, making porting between operating systems easier. Redox is available in Server and Desktop editions, featuring components of the COSMIC desktop in the latter edition.

Edward Snyder has announced the availability of the third alpha release of Liquid Lemur Linux 2.0, a distribution combining Window Maker and Xfce into a unique desktop experience: "The next release of Lemur is now available. There have been many updates and bug fixes for this release: APEman has been updated, features added, but is not complete; live session scripts updated; LibreOffice updated; all custom Lemur applications have been updated; Lemur Conky bits still need work; Morpher and Themer tools not complete (use at your own risk); guides (APEman and Users) held back for the beta release. Starting with this release, torrent downloads are now available. Also, I am working to bring back zsync to Lemur. This will allow you to get the latest ISO images without having to download the entire ISO (provided you have the previous ISO on your end already)." Edward Snyder has announced the availability of the second alpha release of Liquid Lemur Linux 2.0, a distribution with a "hybrid" desktop experience that combines the Window Maker window manger with elements of the Xfce desktop. Unlike the first alpha build which was based on Linux Mint, this release is derived from Debian GNU/Linux 8.0: "After months of delays and uncertainty, Lemur 2.0 alpha 2 has been released. There is still much work to be done, but this release is very much usable and stable. The Lemur repo has been updated as well. Lemur is back on a Debian base ('Jessie' in this release) and back to 64-bit only. Please keep in mind that this is still an alpha release. As with all Lemur releases in the past, this release includes scripts, applications, and concepts from other distributions. APEman (add-ons, projects, editions manager) replaces the Lemur Control Center; APEman is not complete; LibreOffice updated to version 5; Lemur applications updated; two new Lemur applications introduced (Autostart and Favorites configuration tools); Window Maker updated to 0.95.7...." Edward Snyder has announced the availability of the initial alpha build of Liquid Lemur Linux 2.0. Recently revived after being dormant for 2.5 years, Liquid Lemur is no longer based on Arch Linux, but on Linux Mint. It provides a "hybrid" desktop experience, combining the Window Maker window manger with elements of the Xfce desktop. From the release notes: "This is the first alpha release of Liquid Lemur Linux 2.0. Please keep that in mind when testing it. This release is based on Linux Mint 17 Xfce, 64-bit variant. Linux Mint was used to reduce development time and because it worked out of the box with my hybrid desktop. My goal is to build it up from scratch (like I did with the original Liquid Lemur) at some point. Liquid Lemur uses bits and pieces from Xfce and Window Maker to create a hybrid desktop of sorts. Tools are included to Morph it into a standard (Legacy) Window Maker look. There is also enough of Xfce installed that one could actually run Xfce instead.
