UBOS
UBOS is a Linux distribution designed to greatly reduce the amount of time required to set up and maintain common network services. UBOS features a command line utility, ubos-admin, which makes it possible to set up services such as Wordpress, Nextcloud and wiki software with a single command. Backing up all services and restoring them can also be accomplished by issuing a short command in the shell. UBOS is a rolling release distribution based on Arch Linux.

A new version of the Mandows live CD is available. Mandows 1.6 is now based on Mandrakelinux 10.0 + bug fixes, with KDE 3.2, GIMP 2.0.0, KOffice 1.3 (replacing OpenOffice.org), Captive NTFS (NTFS read and write support), Linux kernel 2.4.25 (kernel 2.6 still not quite stable enough) and Eagle USB 1.9.6. Besides French, English is now also supported. Mandows 1.6 is currently only available via BitTorrent (file size 590MB), but will be released for download from FTP servers later this week. Mandows 1.5 has been released. The new version fixes several bugs from the previous release and includes support for ACPI and ECI modems. Many new packages have been added, including mmbox, gFTP, MPlayer, alsamixergui, GCDmaster, QTParted, Synaptic, Samba, Apache, Grip, xawtv, BitTorrent and others. Mandows is a French live CD based on Mandrake Linux with support for hard disk installation.

Mandows is a new Linux live CD (with a supported hard disk installation option) made in France, based on Mandrake Linux and with GNOME 2.4 as its default desktop environment. Version 1.4 was released yesterday. The new version includes a i686-optimised kernel 2.4.22, OpenOffice.org 1.1, k3b, a script to generate GeeXboX multimedia ISO images, and all the usual Mandrake utilities. The 3CX client, included in the distribution, can also be installed separately on most hardware as well as the cloud.
