The linuX-gamers Live DVD was a bootable medium with a collection of popular 3D games. It contains both the NVIDIA and ATI proprietary Linux drivers and includes the following games: BzFLag, Enemy Territory, Glest, Nexuiz, Sauerbraten, Torcs, Tremulous, True Combat: Elite, Warsow and World of Padman. Although the live DVD was based on Arch Linux, it does not offer any desktop Linux functionality except gaming.

The NuTyX project has announced the release of NuTyX 15.05. The distribution is based on Linux From Scratch (LFS) and features a custom package manager, called cards. A revised version of cards (version 1.0) is present in NuTyX 15.05. Another new feature is the ability to work with JFS file systems. "The kernel used is a 3.19.6. A LTS release (Long Term Support) is also available in Version 3.18.12. The ISO is now translated to 100% in the following languages: French, Dutch, Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian and German. The file system JFS has been added as possible format. It seems that this is not the best file system we can find today. Performance level, there is the Btrfs, stability and control level there is XFS. If you want to install on a formatted NuTyX Btrfs partition, you must install GRUB on a separate and especially not install GRUB partition (again) on the partition of NuTyX. For example /dev/sda1 formatted in ext2 will be set to boot from the machine and /dev/sda2 formatted in Btrfs will be used for install NuTyX." Thierry Nuttens has announced the release of NuTyX Pakxe, a highly customisable French Linux distribution designed for intermediate and advanced Linux users. This is the project's fifth stable release, but the first one which includes support for 64-bit architectures. All packages have been compiled with GCC 4.6.0 and against glibc 2.13, and the entire backend which builds binary packages has been re-worked to better identify the dependencies and to build high quality packages ready for installation. Desktop environments include KDE 4.6.3 and Xfce 4.8, but GNOME is no longer available due to lack of a package maintainer (volunteers are welcome). Thierry Nuttens has announced the release of NuTyX Attapu, a French desktop Linux distribution based on Gentoo Linux, but using binary software packages. This release no longer has a year-based version number; from now on, all future NuTyX releases will be named after provinces of Laos, a country in south-east Asia. From a technical point of view, the biggest change compared to the 2010 release series is that NuTyX now comes in the form of a live CD (with Xfce 4.6.2) and a live DVD (with KDE 4.5.1) and a graphical system installer. The binary packages are now compressed with LZMA which allows for faster downloads. There is also a new version of the graphical package manager (built with Qt), a new logo and artwork, new Wiki and a new, detailed user manual. This is the fifth release of the 2009 series with the stable and well-tested base system, but with many updated end-user applications. The release is provided primarily for those users who wish to upgrade their system, but who don't have a fast Internet connection to do so by regular online updates. The new version comes with a number of bug fixes in the installer and the usual round of package updates, including Xfce 4.6.2, GNOME 2.30.1, KDE 4.4.3, OpenOffice.org 3.2.0, KOffice 2.1.1, Pidgin 2.7.0 and CUPS 1.4.2. The primary Linux kernel has been upgraded to version 2.6.34, but an older, long-term support kernel is also available. Thierry Nuttens has announced the release of NuTyX 2009.3, a French desktop Linux distribution with custom package management. This is the fourth update in the 2009 series; while the base system, the C library and the compiler remains unchanged throughout the 2009.x releases, a number of small problems have been corrected. For example the Mozilla browser is now in French and the Xfce, GNOME (2.28.2) and KDE (4.4.1) desktops have all been updated to their latest versions. Thierry Nuttens has announced the release of NuTyX 2009.2, a Gentoo-based French Linux distribution with binary packages for four desktop environments: GNOME, KDE, LXDE and Xfce. According to the release announcement, this version has had over 900 commits, mostly package upgrades and dependency updates, but also some bug fixes. There is a new theme that is now a common feature across all the different desktop environments. An alternative kernel, supporting more than 4 GB of RAM, is now included in the distribution. Some of the package upgrades include: ALSA 1.0.22, Amarok 2.2.1.90, Firefox 3.5.6, GNOME 2.28, KDE 4.3.4, Linux kernel 2.6.32.2, K3b 1.69.0alpha4, LXDE 0.5.0, Midori 0.2.1 and X.Org Server 1.7.3. Thierry Nuttens has announced the release of NuTyX 2009.1, a French desktop-oriented distribution based on Linux From Scratch with a hybrid (binary and source) package management borrowed from CRUX. The new release comes with a number of new features, including the first-ever GNOME edition, the ability to install the distribution into LVM volumes, a simplified text-mode system installer, and a new graphical package management front-end. Thierry Nuttens has announced the release of NuTyX 2009, a distribution based on Linux From Scratch and CRUX, designed primarily for French-speaking intermediate Linux users. The release is built of top of a brand new Linux kernel 2.6.31 and includes GCC 4.4.1, glibc 2.10.1, X.Org Server 1.6.1, KDE 4.3.1, Xfce 4.6.1, OpenOffice.org 3.1.1 and Firefox 3.5.3, just to name a few of the more popular software packages. Five bootable ISO images are available for download: the "Mini" edition (a 11 MB network installation image), the "Base" edition (a 172 MB base system without X window), and three editions with the choice of LXDE, Xfce or KDE as the preferred desktop. For users who have installed the second release candidate or an earlier development release, a fresh installation is recommended.
