ARMA, formerly known as Omoikane GNU/Linux has released ARMA 2.2. This is a Japanese commercial distribution based on Debian and only available in Japan. It comes in three editions - Desktop (¥9,800), Desktop/Server edition (¥37,000) and ORCA edition (¥118,000). Some of the new features include improved graphical installer, extensive technical support by phone, XFS as the default journaling file system, remote maintenance infrastructure, quick system restore, IPv6 support and updated Japanese input method called ATOK X. ARMA aka Omoikane GNU/Linux 2.1 has been released. This news will be of interest mainly to those of you who live in Japan, since there is no "free" edition this time. Four different boxed editions are availabe for purchase - Desktop (¥12,800), Desktop/Server (¥39,800), ORCA single license (¥118,000) and ORCA dual license (¥168,000). 3CX Phone System is a specialist, Debian-based Linux distribution designed to run a complete unified communications platform. The 3CX client, included in the distribution, can also be installed separately on most hardware as well as the cloud. It provides a complete open standards-based IP PBX and phone system that works with popular SIP trunks and IP phones. It will automatically configure all supported peripherals and it also comes with clients for Windows, OS X, iOS and Android. The ISO image includes a free license for the 3CX PBX edition. Solus
Solus is a Linux distribution built from scratch. It uses a forked version of the PiSi package manager, maintained as "eopkg" within Solus, and its flagship edition uses the Budgie desktop environment. Budgie was originally developed-in-house, but is now maintained as a separate project by the Buddies of Budgie team. Solus is available in GNOME, KDE Plasma and Xfce editions.
