AnNyung Linux
AnNyung was an i686-optimised, server-oriented Korean Linux distribution based on the Red Hat/Fedora technology with added security features. Starting from version 2.0 AnNyung only exists as an add-on to CentOS and Red Hat Enterprise Linux, not as a complete and installable operating system - hence the "Discontinued" status.

Rancher Labs has announced the release of RancherOS 1.0.0, a major release of the company's minimalist Linux distribution designed for running Docker containers: "Rancher Labs, a provider of container management software, today announced the general availability of RancherOS, a simplified Linux distribution built from containers, for containers. RancherOS eliminates any unnecessary libraries and services, resulting in a footprint three times smaller than that of other container operating systems. The simplified container environment reduces container boot time, increases efficiency and improves security by reducing the number of components that can be exploited. Key features of RancherOS include: minimalist OS - eliminates the need for unnecessary libraries and services; automatic configuration - simplifies OS configuration by using cloud-init to parse the cloud-config files from multiple data sources; simple setup - runs services inside containers orchestrated using Docker Compose service files, making setup as simple as running a Docker container." Sven Dowideit has announced the release of RancherOS 0.8.0, an updated build of the project's minimalist Linux distribution designed for running Docker containers: "RancherOS release - version 0.8.0. Linux 4.9.9 (amd64), Linux 4.4.43 hypriot-v7+ (Raspberry Pi), Docker 1.12.6 default, Docker 1.13.0 available for testing. Note: due to the change from Ubuntu kernels to mainline stable Linux kernels, the Xfce console is currently not supported, and upgrading systems that use that console will probably break. New features: RancherOS now uses an unmodified current mainline Linux kernel 4.9; cloud-init now runs before most system services, allowing it to be used to customize or replace services; image name validation for service, console and engine commands; completely new installation code - replaces GRUB with Syslinux (including upgrade; you can now boot from the ISO image without a net connection and the install will run using the installer image...." Josh Curl has announced the release of RancherOS 0.7.0, the latest stable version of the project's minimalist Linux distribution designed for running Docker containers: "Version 0.7.0 of RancherOS, which mainly contains bug fixes and enhancements, was recently released and is now available on our releases page. Since there hasn't been a blog post since the v0.5.0 release, this post also includes some of the key features implemented as part of v0.6.0 and v0.6.1. In addition to switching the default Docker version to 1.12.1 and kernel version to 4.4.21, the following features have been implemented. Better support for switching docker engines. It has always been part of the design of RancherOS to run two instances of Docker. The first is System Docker, which runs as PID 1 and is responsible for managing system services. The other, which we typically call User Docker or just Docker, is actually run as a container managed by System Docker. Starting with v0.6.0, the process for changing the User Docker container has been made much easier." Read the rest of the release announcement for a detailed description of all new features. The new release, RancherOS 0.5.0, moves the project out of its alpha status and introduces new features, including an official Raspberry Pi image. "RancherOS, the latest major release since v0.4.0. Since then, we've moved RancherOS out of an alpha state and made many changes to improve both stability and user experience. In addition to various bug fixes and support for Docker 1.11, v0.5.0 includes the following changes: On our releases page you can now find an official Raspberry Pi image which is known to work on both Raspberry Pi 2 and 3. We're especially excited about this since it offers users a cheap method of getting started with Docker and RancherOS. We'd like to thank the Hypriot team for their assistance on this feature..."
