| Package Search |
Search the DistroWatch database for distributions using a particular package. If you are looking for a distribution with the latest kernel, select "linux" from the drop-down box below and type the version number into the text box next to it. Please note that the best way to obtain the GNOME version is by searching for "nautilus", while KDE Plasma is represented by the "plasma-desktop" package. Apache 2.x is listed as "httpd". As for versioning, if no version number is provided, this page will return any recent versions of the selected package. It is also possible to perform searches for distributions which do not contain a specific package. This returns a list of distributions where the given package is not present on the installation media.
The package version search offers the ability to search for packages which are close
to a specific version, exactly equal to a specific version, greater than or less than
a given version. The second field in the search form allows visitors to switch between
these relations. Most people will probably want to use the like option as it will
search for packages close to a given version. When no version is specified, like
finds packages close to the latest version.
This page can be used to display all distributions which contain a specific package
or version of a package. We also have search pages which display a
side-by-side comparison of all packages
between two distributions. We also provide a package which shows the version of a selected
package in all active distributions.
Have fun and let us know how we can improve the search engine!

| Search by Distribution Criteria (Simple Search Form) |
This section allows you to search for a particular distribution based on certain criteria. Select the criteria from the drop-down and check boxes below and hit the Submit Query button to get a list of known distributions that match your choice.
The following distributions match your criteria (sorted by popularity):
1. GParted Live (151) GParted Live is a live distribution with a single purpose - to provide tools for partitioning hard disks in an intuitive, graphical environment. The distribution uses X.Org, the light-weight Fluxbox window manager, and the latest 4.x Linux kernel. GParted Live runs on most x86 machines with a Pentium II or better.
2. Dr.Parted Live (229) Dr.Parted Live is a bootable GNU/Linux distribution based on Debian's "Testing" branch. It is a live image featuring a lightweight Openbox window manager and useful applications for disc partitioning as well as data backup, restore and recovery.
3. Parted Magic (280) Parted Magic is a small live CD/USB/PXE with its elemental purpose being to partition hard drives. Although GParted and Parted are the main programs, the CD/USB also offers other applications, such as Partition Image, TestDisk, fdisk, sfdisk, dd, ddrescue, etc. In August 2013 the distribution became a commercial product and is no longer available as a free download.
4. ShredOS (330) ShredOS is a small live Linux distribution whose sole purpose is to securely erase the contents of disks. It can boot from a USB device, CD or DVD and it supports both BIOS and UEFI booting. The system boots directly into nwipe, a program that securely erases the contents of block devices; it can wipe a single drive or multiple disks in parallel. After booting the system, the user can select a disk to erase, together with one of the various erasure methods, such as "Fill With Zeros", "Fill With Ones", RCMP TSSIT OPS-II, DoD, Gutmann Wipe, PRNG Stream, Schneier Wipe, BMB21-2019 and others. The nwipe program automatically starts its ncurses-based interface in the first virtual terminal (ALT-F1), while other useful tools, such as hdparm, smartmontools and hexeditor can be run in the second virtual terminal (ALT-F2). ShredOS is available in "Standard" and "Lite" editions, with the latter able to run on computers with as little as 512 MB of RAM.
5. Mariposa Rescue Disk (407) Mariposa Rescue Disk is a live Linux image based on Debian's "Stable" branch. By default it boots into a command-line interface, but a full graphical desktop with Xfce is also available. The image contains a large number of troubleshooting, system rescue and data backup tools and the project also provides documentation and tutorials for common rescue tasks.
6. recovery (442) recovery is a Debian-based live Linux distribution with a collection of utilities designed for troubleshooting, disk partitioning, system rescue, backup and data recovery. It also includes tools for modifying passwords on Linux and Windows installations and for retrieving Windows product keys. It ships with GParted, Clonezilla, Boot-Repair, ddrescue, Nwipe, TestDisk, DejaDup and many more tools. The distribution, which boots into the Xfce desktop, also features a variety of desktop applications, such as LibreWolf web browser, GOffice office suite (AbiWord and Gnumeric), GIMP image editor, Shotwell video editor and Audacity audio editor. Besides developing the live distribution, the project also provides extra software as modules (in *.sb format) which can be installed with a mouse click.
7. Linux Engineer Toolkit Live (LengToolkit) (474) Linux Engineer Toolkit Live (LengToolkit), based on Debian "Stable", is a specialized, recovery-oriented Linux distribution designed for system engineers and information technology professionals. Operating exclusively in live mode, it provides a robust environment to rescue failing systems, recover lost data, and manage disk infrastructures without the need for installation. The distribution uses the MATE desktop environment and comes bundled with a long list of system monitoring, data recovery and disk management utilities.
