antiX is a fast, lightweight and easy-to-install Linux live CD distribution based on Debian's "Stable" branch for x86 compatible systems. antiX offers users the "antiX Magic" in an environment suitable for old computers. The goal of antiX is to provide a light, but fully functional and flexible free operating system for both newcomers and experienced users of Linux. It should run on most computers, ranging from 256 MB old PIII systems with pre-configured swap to the latest powerful boxes. 256 MB RAM is recommended minimum for antiX. The installer needs minimum 2.7 GB hard disk size. antiX can also be used as a fast-booting rescue CD, or run "live" on a USB stick, with or without persistent file storage.

 Uso Antix desde hace dos meses. Es poco tiempo para dar un veredicto completo, pero suficiente para contar mi experiencia.
A esta distro la instalé en una netbook de 2011 con Intel Atom, 1GB DDR3 y SSD Sata de 120GB.
Pros: El rendimiento es excelente. Arranca rápido y no laguea. La posibilidad de elegir entre los tres WM me permitió darle agilidad a la interacción con menúes, vebtanas y archivos. Yo uso la netbook solo para reproducir video y música offline en mis clases, pero viene preparada para usarse como una estación de trabajo de baja potencia donde sea. Reconoció todos los componentes de mi netbook (wifi, sonido, gráfico, impresora, ssd) en la prueba con el live USB.
Contras: Debido a que es una distro ultra liviana, su UX es muy limitada para configurar opciones y comportamientos del sistema. Muchas de las configuraciones deben realizarse modificando archivos de texto o mediante la terminal.
No obstante, la recomiendo mucho para hardware extremadamente limitado.

 I've been using Anti-X for a couple of years & really like it. So far, I haven't had it crash via updates like other distros that are newer, including the most recent polkit fiasco on arch linux distros. It's not as easy in installing but worth it!!!!
For basic surfing, it is ideal. I'm not a gamer so I won't be a blamer of the negative aspects if any it has in that area. I'm giving a 10 because it has worked so well, survived through updates & easy to use. I am waiting for the next version-26 to be finalized & will be trying that out. Thanks to the people involved in having made-maintained this distro!!!!!!!!

 Good at all. I love, that you don t need to update every day. Just sudo apt and all. Very good stability. And at all, this is debian. I think, that is a good system for ethical hacking (because lightweight) and also for veeerry old PCs. This is good for using as a server. I didn t find an negative things on this distro. And it have REAL liveCD and persistence support. That s really good.
At all, this is good distro. "It just works". But you can replace every detail.
And problem : GPU Support. old GPUs.if you have not supported videocards (i d have gt 920m), you don t install the driver from sudo apt. Iw will not work. You need to find this driver at a browser, and install it from init 1.
