Artix Linux is a fork (or continuation as an autonomous project) of the Arch-OpenRC and Manjaro-OpenRC projects. Artix Linux offers a lightweight, rolling-release operating system featuring the OpenRC init software. (Alternative spins feature the runit and s6 init software.) Several editions of Artix Linux are available, featuring either a plain command line or one of several desktop environments.

 Pretty much a noob, but have been around a bit. This would be my daily driver if not for a couple little faults. It annoys me to have to start my gufw every time I log on. A small thing I know.
Pros-Easy to download and love the init options, they all work, except for above.
This distro is very fast and lightweight.
No problem installing and encrypting the install.
Dinit boots very quickly and it's what I would stay with.
KDE works for me and Firefox is easy to install with pacman.
This distro could eclipse Manjaro with just a few tweaks. For now I like them both but I am using Mint because it does it all (LMDE).

 artix works brilliantly on my old i5 machine. i tried manjaro earlier, either the state of my old machine or the prepackaged binaries made the distro somewhat hackable. my mouse was going sideways, the machine is doing things i didnt ask of it. artix and openrc fixed it but with msdos. uefi makes the ghostsly tasks appear again. im wondering if they are hacking wifi chip or the mouse chip to be able to do such things. maybe on android u can even hack the battery so that it turns on whenever u shutdown it. is the chip using rf / bluetooth / wifi ?

Perfect for users who dislike systemd due to its complexity or design philosophy.
Gives you flexibility in choosing your preferred init system. I personally prefer OpenRC

2. Minimalism and Control
Installs only what you want.
Ideal for custom setups — servers, lightweight desktops, or privacy-focused machines.

3. Great for Learning
Teaches deep Linux internals (init systems, service management, etc.)
Forces you to understand what’s going on under the hood.
