Fedora, Manjaro, Mint, Nobara, various Ubuntu flavors, I've spent plenty of time with all of them. EndeavourOS is where I finally stopped. I run it as a gaming machine and it's been rock solid. No driver headaches, no weird compatibility issues, just a system that stays out of the way. The EndeavourOS team doesn't stray far from Arch and that's kind of the point. What they do add is a genuinely slick installer and some of the best default theming I've seen on a Linux distro. It looks good without trying too hard. Fair warning though, this isn't a set-it-and-forget-it distro. Updates happen through the terminal and on a rolling release you want to stay on top of them. That said, the commands are dead simple and the EndeavourOS forum community is probably the most helpful I've come across in years of Linux use. You won't be left hanging. If you want Arch without the painful manual install process and you're willing to get comfortable with a few terminal commands, this is the easiest path there. I had zero problems, and after installation, there's no need to spend ages fiddling around the OS. A little more detail. I have ASUS laptop with RTX 5050, and I had to configure compatibility, yes. I chose the option to manually configure the dGPU, but you can also choose to install the video drivers automatically. But in the age of AI, it took 10 minutes and one reboot. It was also very easy to configure the display refresh rate switching when changing power modes (but this is a KDE feature). Switching between graphics cards works quite well, but even better, the dGPU goes into sleep mode, so the battery lasts well. I don't understand exactly how, but programs launch instantly! Pretty good balance of minimalism and polish, with a somewhat well configured desktop and admin tools on top of an Arch base. I've found this to be probably the best live distro that I've seen in years. It's still very quick, streamlined, not being polluted with too much of filler or tools that are not useful, while still having a pretty good amount of polish and convenience. This is one of a handful of distros that I use currently, from stock Debian, to Gentoo Linux, to the big 3 BSD's (Free/Net/Open), to any one of various flavors/spins/labs of Fedora and the CoreOS variant of OpenSUSE Tumbleweed, and Endeavour is a genuinely pleasant experience to use right from the start, which I can say about exceedingly few, even of the most well-designed distros out there. Outside of when GalPon MiNiNo was active, and when I could get Puppy to boot properly (hardly ever can), this is probably the most easy to use live distro I've encountered, as well as consistently visually appealing and somewhat responsive. It has also served me well installed bare-metal, as it is my daily driver on my most recent hardware. It's basically all the no-frills ease of use you would want out of a sort of out-of-the-box desktop distro, with most of the configurability and lean installation available on one of those hardcore minimalist distros like stock FreeBSD, Gentoo Linux, etc. It also generally both boots* somewhat quickly, and installs fairly quickly, so you can get up and running fast. And it is based on Arch repos, so it's well maintained and documented in terms of the upstream developer base, fairly easy to admin using pacman, and has currently all of the speed and low latency associated with syncing from an Arch mirror that I am used to. As someone who is not an Arch fanboy, these are points worth noting, as they are some of the very strong points of a pretty great project. Arch Wiki is one of the best out there, for instance, and I often turn to it when tending to a machine that doesn't even have Arch installed, and sometimes more loosely as a cross-reference when on a completely heterogeneous system: say a Gentoo or FreeBSD box. The documentation is really that good! And I must further mention the Endeavour layer of things, which include an incredibly easy to use installer, mirror sortation and update tools on top of what Arch offers, and a fairly visually appealing and consistent visual theme, at least on the KDE Plasma Desktop install I have running. I don't know how far this project is going, but it certainly seems to be headed in the right direction! *I will add the caveat that I had to enable EFI/UEFI boot to use it successfully.
