iodéOS is an Android-based operating system (in the LineageOS family) which ships without Google trackers or proprietary software. iodéOS monitors, in real-time, connection attempts from applications and allows the user to see the identities of all recipients and the quantity of data they wish to collect, optionally block malicious recipients (advertisements, malware, spam, statistics and trackers), and measure how privacy-respectful the installed applications are.

iodeOS is smooth and clean. It feels well put together and way more user friendly for a basic user than Graphene. Obviously there are still some compromises compared to a standard Pixel but that's the price we pay to degoogle. Most of this comes down to me getting a better understanding of what i can run on an iode device without inviting Google to watch me again, learning how many of the old standard apps I have to ditch i.e. Google Store subscribe apps, games that require store connections, etc. I'll continue to play with it on my Pixel 6 until I feel I can confidently recommend it to less tech savvy family members. Thanks iode and keep up the good work.
I have been using IodéOS for almost 2 years now on multiple phones. I never encountered any issues with updating to new releases. IodéOS is rock-solid.
Compared to other custom ROMs it allows to replace all standard apps by individual ones and comes with no bloatware. The standard apps are so good that they don't need to be replaced in most of the cases. The Iodé browser is so good that I installed it on a phone without IodéOS.
Almost all family members have IodéOS on their phones. For only 60 Swiss Francs a year the whole family is protected from ads and tracking by the internal firewall. As it's an internal firewall, it allows using a VPN.
All apps are working, mobile banking, messengers, public transportation, weather apps, etc. One exception: A remote login authentication app of one of our customers doesn't work, because it checks for jail breaks.
As I have to use highly unsecure apps like whatsapp, I configured a work profile for these apps. Together with the shelter app, the management of htese apps becomes very simple, even the children use it.
The only disadvantage I can see for the monent is, that IodéOS is only available for a limited amount of devices. But developing keeps going on.

Iode is a very good alternative Android operating system for me.
For me, the main reason for switching to Iode was the integration of a blocker (firewall) at the system level.
This leaves the VPN free in Android for individual VPN apps.
Furthermore, Iode has further privacy relevant improvements over Lineage OS, on which Iode is based.
With newer models, switching to Iode with the Iode Installer works well and easily.
Updates take some time, which is of course also due to the fact that Iode is a fork of LineageOS.
During the installation you can choose which apps that Iode provides you want to install.
MicroG and the Aurora Store is also on board on request.
The blocker (which is just called Iode on Iode) and works on a DNS-based basis.
It comes in two versions. Free of charge (without the possibility of making your own blocks) or as a subscription with the option of blocking individual network traffic.
Automatic updates of apps work very well in the background with the integrated F-Droid app.
Apps that are available in both stores, i.e. the F-Droid Store and the Aurora Store, should then be added to the Aurora Store on the block list.
The e-mail program is currently Thunderbird and, if you have Thunderbird on your computer, can be set up using a QR code.
Iode is currently officially supporting a tablet: Samsung Tab S5e, which must be installed manually.
The Iode Installer is not available here. The descriptions for the manual updates, for devices where the Iode Installer is not available, could be better.
