It's early days, but it's neat and tidy and allows me to do all I currently need to do now, and hopefully into the future. I wrote a long review but was unable to load it all on. Here were just a few points. Without my full explanations being here it might not make much sense. Nevertheless, I hope you find it useful. (1) Highlight Firewall to be switched on for those that want this (2) Tick box option for (off / on) Flatpk install (3) State to Remove USB stick on install (newcomers) (4) Keep as an option always to Install without Internet (5) Don't change much. It looks great and works great the way it is (6) Finally, using it with secure boot, perhaps an option in the longer term as well as, maybe, a light immutable system with the option of Flatpak sideloading. It runs incredibly fast and uses very little memory. Looks Like Windows: The layout has a familiar start menu and taskbar. If you know how to use Windows, you can use this instantly. Easy to Use: You do not need to know any complicated coding or commands. Everything works right out of the box. Comes with Great Apps: It includes free, pre-installed software like Google Chrome for browsing, LibreOffice for school or work, and VLC for watching videos. Incredibly Stable: Because it is built on a solid foundation (Ubuntu), it rarely crashes and does not force annoying updates on you. Huge Language Support: Version 6.6 adds support for 22 new languages, making it easy to use for people all over the world. Completely Free: It costs absolutely nothing to download, use, and update. Had a great time and eventually branched out, but fondly remembered learning Linux on Lite. Just one thing... it's 2026 and I feel with the mass adoption of Linux due to Microsoft failures, broad software options should be up front and easy for newer folks. I'm not here to start a fight, but Flatpak should be a quick toggle on or off for every distro. (Vanilla Ubuntu notwithstanding) Yes, it's easy to install and no, don't need to copy what everyone else is doing (no fun in that!) it just seems like not having it as an option by default is a bit weird these days. Besides that ONE thing, Linux Lite has been fantastic, simple, and a wonderful ride over the years. Haven't gone too deep on 8.0 rc , but playing around with it on a mini system with a modest N150 was perfectly fine and snappy. Kudos to the Lite team for such a clean, relaxing, Linux journey.
