I've been using Predator security edition on Plasma for about 4 months now, after using Parrot security edition as a daily driver with the occasional switch to a live Kali USB, and Predator, while a relatively new distro and even more recently discovered by me, has now replaced both of those. Its allowed to me to replace everything else, actually, except for maybe once a month when I grudgingly have to actually use my windows partition because Ive never quite got the hang of using WINE effectively enough. Theres still a few tiny things that need polishing up IMO, but theyre not a part of the actual functions of the distro; things like spelling errors (the developer, while very talented, is Iranian and I believe english is his second language so I definitely dont hold that against him, and from the little Ive seen on github he responds quickly and is more than willing to help), or outdated items that were from a previous release of the distro on an older kernel and therefore a little confusing or no longer implemented. The summary here doesnt inlcude that there is a headless edition along with a "Home" as well with several desktop environments to choose from as well, reminiscent of Parrot. I think predator not only has many more tools and customization options than parrot to choose from, but definitely for my tastes and in my opinion at least, seems to be much more modern, sleek, and stylish too, and by far easier for beginners or someone who is just trying to dabble in pentesting or security related tasks maybe on the weekends when they get time or whatever, and there is explanations for each tool built into the launcher when you mouse hover besides the extensive categories theyre already separated into, as well as several different PDF's either already included with the distribution or easily available from the developers website which is the default homepage on the firefox esr browser included and (I think) already the default browser. The PDF's cover linux fundamentals in general before the overview of some of the highlights and general overview of the distro itself, and how to change or customize some of the aspects of it along with explanations as to why he configured it the way he did in the first place. Also included in the security edition at least, (I haven't tried the Home edition nor the headless version) is I believe all of the tools that are utilized by another distro created by the developer, titled "Little Psycho Linux" which is all about stress testing, bench-marking, disk wiping, partitioning, configuring swap space, BIOS, cpu, and more. I personally love everything about this distro and while several times through mistakes or misfortunes of my entirely my own, I lost data or messed up the system to the point it was easier to start from scratch, while I usually would have taken the opportunity to distro hop a bit and shop around, I only begun anew with re-installation of Predator and noted how not to make the same mistake so that I could stick with Predator for a long time. Im grateful to Mr. Seilani for this product and his work on it and encourage anybody who is interested even a bit in pentesting at any skill level, as well as any average every day user who just wants to be sure their data is secure and their system and kernel is hardened, or anybody wanting to learn the fundamentals and basics of their way around a linux system or take their first shots at some of the popular as well as a few obscure but useful tools of the trade to try this distro out, in the security versions, and it is genuinely my hope that many more people begin to use this distro and love it as I have so that there is a bigger community to turn to and learn with and from, as well as motivate Mr. Seilani to continue to improve and polish Predator OS.
