Puppy Linux is yet another Linux distribution. What's different here is that Puppy is extraordinarily small, yet quite full-featured. Puppy boots into a ramdisk and, unlike live CD distributions that have to keep pulling stuff off the CD, it loads into RAM. This means that all applications start in the blink of an eye and respond to user input instantly. Puppy Linux has the ability to boot off a flash card or any USB memory device, CDROM, Zip disk or LS/120/240 Superdisk, floppy disks, internal hard drive. It can even use a multisession formatted CD-RW/DVD-RW to save everything back to the CD/DVD with no hard drive required at all.

 Hey , this BOOKWORM PUP is fantastic , its NOT the same old Puppy !
I made a frugal install of Bookworm Pup on a old HP Chromebook that was no longer supported .
I had to flash a new bios to wipe the Chromeos and install linux . Instructions from "Mr. Chromebox" website .
The old Chromebook has only a 16 Gb hard drive so when I first installed MX LINUX there was only less than 2Gb of space for my home folder . MX worked great , but I just needed more space .

So , I installed Bookworm Pup and it only took up less than 1Gb of space on the HD and left the rest for the size of the home folder I need. For extra storage I use a miniature 64 Gb thumb drive.

I was able to install all of the Debian packages that I use Including the "ONBOARD" onscreen keyboard that I use but would not work on any of the previous Puppies I've tried .

This Bookworm Pup is the best Puppy I've ever seen , its lightning fast , works all the features on the Chromebook with no problem , and it looks good too .
This disrto is giving me all the everything I need in a size to make this old laptop Chromebook a working useful machine .

The only con I can think of is that a new Linux users might have some trouble to figure out how to adjust the look and feel of the Puppy to their preferences.

I run immutable: load off read-only CD/USB, to RAM, reset date/etc, save all
- manually, cut all power at end (no AC/batteries). Unsupervised/'automatic'
- updates/mods are not saved because next boot of OS must run as expected.
Distro: using fossapup64-9.5.iso until recently, excellent small fast OpSys.

S15Pup & Void: new ISOs monthly, Palemoon/Claws/etc are easily available.
Void apps simpler, has CLI pkg-mngr, DEB-2-XBPS converter, XBPS installer.
Palemoon-33+default needs AVX, so palemoon64-33.4.0.1-sse2.sfs is offered.
- It is available at sourceforge.net/projects/pb-gh-releases/files/
ALERT: Cloudflare at sourceforge.net blocks "old" Firefox-v48-Light so
- may instead use Seamonkey/etc and manually goto sourceforge & get sfs.

 Puppy is my favorite O.S. ever, I have used 8 or 10 Linux flavors and Pup is my #1 because I use old laptops and Puppy flies on just about anything. Also, it is a great RESCUE O.S. and has saved me many times. I've been using Lubuntu lately and it failed me after an upgrade with a login issue - I will repair that stick - but I booted to a stick with Puppy Bookworm64 and was up and going right away. There are some great apps to add to base distro but it's full featured from base. Linux 6.1.76 is my current patch level on Bookworm64
