Table Notes and Explanations

(Please refer to the table below.)
  • Select view: Major packages only (52) All tracked packages (226)
  • To compare the software in this project to the software available in other distributions, please see our Compare Packages page.
  • Notes: In case where multiple versions of a package are shipped with a distribution, only the default version appears in the table. For indication about the GNOME version, please check the "nautilus" and "gnome-shell" packages. The Apache web server is listed as "httpd" and the Linux kernel is listed as "linux". The KDE desktop is represented by the "plasma-desktop" package and the Xfce desktop by the "xfdesktop" package.
  • Colour scheme: green text = latest stable version, red text = development or beta version. The function determining beta versions is not 100% reliable due to a wide variety of versioning schemes.

This is a really good distro.
I call it “Manjaro for Millennials”. It’s light, easy and flexible with a trendy style.
If the Swag Arch team continues to polish the distro and maybe even throw in one or two distinctive features...I think Swag will join Manjaro and Antergos as the most popular Arch derivatives.

Installation was a breeze (virtualbox for now). Noted that several Mint X-apps were chosen :) yes!!! Which means 'xed' for an editor, and 'pix' for image browsing. A really clean interface and easy to find ones way around to customize your experience. Most of the wallpapers are the distro-master's own work and enhance the overall impression of a quality distro. Must be the easiest way to get into Arch besides Manjaro. Haven't run into any cons as yet - first day euphoria and all that :)

Swagarch has become my main driver. The main reason is that Arch will misbehave sooner or later. You can reinstall Arch from scratch, using up a whole weekend or you can install Swagarch and be up and running in a half hour. In my case I add pacman -S mate mate-extra and use the AUR to add wireless and I have all the functionality I used to have in Arch on a Mate desktop but at a fraction of the time. I also love the XFCE theme.
