Drauger OS is an Ubuntu-based Linux desktop and gaming distribution that ships with many modifications and optimizations over stock Ubuntu; these are intended to improve gaming performance and the gaming experience. From simple changes such as swapping GNOME out for KDE Plasma and using a dark Qt theme by default, to more complex changes such as using a kernel compiled in-house and replacing PulseAudio with Pipewire. Drauger OS is built from the ground up with a focus on performance.

 Beta 7.8 will not install. Ive tried everything. The Logo comes up and then it locks up. Ive tried all options on the grub menu. Ive tried different ISO writers and Ventoy. All I ge. is a Frozen screen with the Logo. Hopefully this will be fixed in the next beta release so i can try it. I was prettty excited about this new release because it finally updates Plasma to version 6. I will give it another try when they release the next beta, which hopefully will be soon because this looks like a great update.

 I was looking for a semi-rolling release model on a distro that focused on gaming that wouldn't rely on heavy modifications. Something simple that allowed me to play games reliably which seems like an easy task, but nothing fit that molding like this project. After running through installation, I was able to start gaming shortly after. These maintainers just focus on curating the quick and simple gaming features that everyone needs, and I love it.
Ubuntu LTS with a rolling release kernel, mesa drivers and Vulkan packages. That's a perfect balance for reliability and gaming.

 I used to used Ubuntu LTS for almost a decade. But something broke and my Steam wouldn't load correctly. Instead of reloading Ubuntu LTS, I tried Drauger OS. And my games work, and my non-games work. I mostly use Firefox and LibreOffice. But all my other apps are also operating well.

In addition, the community is great. There are a bunch of people on the discord to bounce ideas off of and ask questions.

This is the only OS on my desktop machine. I'm running an old AMD Ryzen 5 3400G with a Radeon RX 6650 XT.
